What I ate:
Chicken + Belgium Waffle $14
Jerk chicken or fried chicken, fresh fruit compote + whipped cream
Fruit Punch $4
House-made with fresh pineapple, orange, mango, and papaya juices and grenadine
I opted for the jerk chicken option and it was honestly the best decision I could have ever made. The chicken had the right amount of spice and seasoning, and it was gone just as quickly as it had arrived. The jerk was not over-powering or too hot to handle, but just right in terms of heat. The fresh cinnamon bananas and the soft dough of the waffles complimented each other well and made for an exciting bite. It was the perfect combination of Caribbean culture and American comfort food. The whipped cream was a nice visual touch, but was not really needed since the waffles were already sweet and adding syrup just pushed the sweetness over the edge. Don't get me wrong, though, I still ate it!
The food coupled with the fact that we were sitting outside, enjoying the sun and MangoSeed's flourishing backyard area, the island vibes were in full effect. To help really set the scene of a tropical Caribbean getaway, there was a live DJ playing all the tunes to make you think you were at a real dancehall party.
The service was not as quick as I would have liked, but it could have just seemed that way to me because I was basically STARVING by the time we walked in. However, our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items, and they were very patient with us as we asked questions and tried to decide on a dish. Besides, with food that good, you can stand to wait a little.

The food was delicious, service was great, and the DJ was poppin'. Definitely would recommend and plan on going back to try that jerk salmon next!
